Syracuse Jazz Fest announced that the event, now in it's 31st year, will return to Jamesville Beach Park for three days of non-stop entertainment July 4 - 6. Headliners include The Doobie Brothers on Thursday, the GrandMothers of Invention on Friday and Taylor Dayne on Saturday.
Rounding out this year's lineup are former Earth, Wind and Fire saxophonist Ronnie Laws, The Brubeck Brothers Quartet playing a tribute to the late Dave Brubeck, two-time Grammy winners The Yellowjackets, Kat Wright and the Indomitable Soul Band, Syracuse funkers Sophistafunk and the renowned Preservation Hall Jazz Band.
This year also features a series of scholastic performances and workshops. High school bands from Central Square, Fayetteville-Manlius, Liverpool and Oswego as well as the Stan Colella All Star Band will open the festival each day.
