A sandy shallow beach with the dynamic Driver's Village Playground, breezy picnic grounds, volleyball courts and great views of New York's largest inland lake create a relaxing waterfront environment. Our family friendly campground, the closest to I81 in the Northeast, ideally suited to late spring, summer and early fall travelers, anglers and Central New Yorkers looking for a quick getaway.

Oneida Shores County Park is open year-round. Season beach and boat launch passes are available to purchase. Our carry in-carry out policy helps protect the environment and litter bags are provided for your convenience. No glass is allowed and alcohol is limited to one six pack per legal adult. No beer kegs. All areas of the park, except the beach, are accessible and pets, if brought to the park, must be on a leash not longer than 6', inoculated for rabies, and never left unattended.

The Onondaga County Health Department tests the water quality at Oneida Shores Beach approximately every two weeks during the summer season. Click here to see if the beach is currently open for swimming, and view the most recent water quality testing results, strongly recommended BEFORE heading to the beach(es).

    Oneida Shores Park has a variety of open spaces throughout the park for the general public to enjoy and have a leisurely game of your chosen sport.

    Boat Launch

    Oneida Shores Boat Launch offers the most accessible route to New York State's largest inland lake. Less than a mile off I81 in Brewerton, the paved launch provides multiple entry ramps for boats of all sizes, ample parking nearby, picnic facilities, rest rooms and ranger patrols.     Canoeing / Kayaking

    The shoreline at Oneida Shores Park is practically wide open for car top launching of Canoes or Kayaks for a relaxing paddle through Muskrat Bay and throughout Oneida Lake.  The campground shoreline and swimming area are the only designated off limits areas.  Standard park admission fees apply during beach season.

    Dogs Allowed

    Dogs are not permitted on the beach or within the playground play areas. In accordance with New York State law all dogs must be restrained by a leash or chain not more than six feet in length, every dog owner must have a dog license tag attached to their dog’s collar and it shall be the duty of each dog owner or person having possession, custody or control of a dog to remove any feces left by his or her dog on any public park property.

    fishingOSCatch the big one on bountiful Oneida Lake! Muskrat Bay Fishing area is a great spot to surface fish for bass, while the launch breakwall can be productive for a variety of species. Learn more about fishing at Oneida Shores.

    Please note: Fishing is not permitted on the swimming beach during beach season. Click here for beach season dates/hours.

    Located in our general picnic area are 2 Horseshoe pits that are available on a first come, first serve basis.  Reserve use shelters also have the option of enjoying horseshoes in conjunction with the rental.

  • Picnic Areas

    Picnic Areas

    The general picnic area is used on a first come, first serve basis.  Reserving tables is strongly discouraged and like all areas of the park, the public is expected to remove and dispose of all trash properly in our conjunction with Carry in-Carry out policy.     Home of the dynamic Drivers Village Playground, with something for kids of all ages including a net climber, fish riders (designed to replicate the top three fish populations within Oneida Lake), climbing structures, swings and slides.

    Swimming

    A sandy waterfront with guarded swimming area, a section for inflatables, bathhouse, and children's playground on the largest lake entirely in New York State.
