Parks Announces Winter Photo Contest Winners

Onondaga County Parks announced the winners of the Fifth Annual Onondaga County/Syracuse City Parks Winter Photo Contest today. The contest which ran January 1-31 invited participants to submit photos taken throughout the month at any county or city park for judging in four categories: Best Action, Best Portrait, Best Winter Scene and Most Artistic. In addition, a People's Choice category, chosen by public online vote, was added to the lineup. Prizes were awarded to the top two finishers in the four original categories and to the people's choice winner.

2023 winners:
Best Action
1st Place - Eric Manley, Baldwinsville - "Eagle Taking Flight" - Onondaga Lake Park
2nd Place - Ethan Gilfus, Weedsport - "Bird Bath" - Rosamond Gifford Zoo

Best Portrait
1st Place - Madison Clochessy, Memphis - Untitled - Rosamond Gifford Zoo
2nd Place - Gina Neri, Camillus - "Red Panda's Gaze" - Rosamond Gifford Zoo

Best Winter Scene
1st Place - Catherine Stolz, Liverpool - "A Winter Wonderland" - Elmwood Park
2nd Place - Adam Fine, Liverpool - Untitled - Onondaga Lake Park

Most Artistic
1st Place - Marett Seymour, Syracuse - ""The Flock" - Webster Pond
2nd Place - Marcella Becker, Manlius - "Solitude" - Onondaga Lake Park

People's Choice - Marett Seymour, Syracuse -

The winner was selected via an online public voting forum in which over 800 votes were cast.

Over $2000 in prizes were donated from the following: Syracuse Mets, PB&J's "Streetside" Cafe in Liverpool, Bull & Bear Roadhouse & Catering, Galaxy Media, Syracuse City Parks and Onondaga County Parks.
