"Second Chance for Second Chance" at Lights on the Lake

Tuesday, January 2, 2018

Onondaga Lake Park's 28th Annual Lights on the Lake is scheduled to close on Sunday, January 7 following another spectacular season but Onondaga County is excited to announce that the show will remain open one additional night for a very special cause. On Monday, January 8, from 5-10pm, "Second Chance for Second Chance" will give visitors one more opportunity to visit the two-mile long display, at a discounted price of $5 per vehicle, with all proceeds going to the Second Chance Canine Adoption Shelter in Jamesville. (Please note: Advance sale and complimentary tickets will not be accepted.) In addition, donations of dog items for the shelter such as toys, beds, blankets, nylon leashes and more will be accepted at the ticket booth.

The Second Chance Shelter opened in 2015 and pairs together homeless dogs with inmates for an extended training period under the direction of a Certified Trainer. At the end of training, the dogs are placed up for adoption and the hope is that the inmates will have acquired the skills in a productive and effective way as they enter back into the Central New York Community.

Lights on the Lake is located at Onondaga Lake Park, Route 370/Onondaga Lake Parkway in Liverpool. For more information about Lights on the Lake, visit www.lightsonthelake.com or call (315) 453-6712.
